There are various organisations depending on your location that will be invaluable in helping you organise and coordinate placements or work experience for students.
- Education Business Partnership Organisations (EBPOs) in England and Wales provide, amongst other things, work experience and enterprise activities for pupils as well as professional development for teachers including placements with employers. In England, EBPs are primarily autonomous organisations but in Wales the service is managed by Careers Wales.
- Careers Scotland works in partnership with businesses and other local organisations supporting the development of more employable and enterprising workers.
Excellence in Education through Business Links (EEBL) is Scotland’s teacher placement programme. It gives teachers opportunities to spend time in the world of work outside of school, where they gain interesting, stimulating and relevant hands-on experience of a wide range of careers and how they relate to what young people are learning at school.
- In Northern Ireland, arrangements for work experience are generally coordinated by the school.
