Medical chemist

Medical chemists work as part of a team to design and develop drugs that may in the future be used to treat cancer.

This video case study of a medical chemist working at Cancer Research Technology, highlights the range of tasks involved in this role of drug design and development. From screening compounds to clinical trials, this can be a long process taking a number of years but it can also be hugely rewarding if you have been part of the team developing the drug that can go towards improving public health and increasing the longevity of cancer patients.
