Inspiring the Future

Inspiring the Future is a free service which will see people from all sectors and professions volunteering to go into state secondary schools and colleges to talk about their jobs, careers, and the education routes they took. The aim is to inspire young people and help them to achieve their potential.

Initially the focus is on giving short ‘Career Insight’ talks and ‘Enterprise’ talks in state secondary schools and further education colleges. In the second phase, the menu will be expanded to cover a range of activities such as mentoring, reading and number support and work experience.

Through Inspiring the Future, volunteers and schools can be connected to communicate directly with each other via their simple, secure website.

Schools and colleges can also register with STEMNET (the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Network) which provides free opportunities to inspire students in STEM.

STEMNET manages The STEM Ambassadors Programme, involving 30,000 inspiring volunteers. Find out more about STEM Ambassadors by clicking here.
